The Tetra GreenFree UVC Pond Clarifier (9 Watt) is designed to eliminate unsightly green water algae and maintain a crystal clear pond environment. How it works: Ultraviolet light destroys single-cell algae's ability to reproduce, effectively eliminating 'pea soup' green water. Single-cell algae dies, clumps together, and can then be removed by standard filtration. Key Features: * Automatic mechanical safety switch turns the bulb off when the ballast is removed. * Recommended replacement: Change UV bulbs once a year, ideally in early spring for maximum output during peak pond season. * Installation: Installs outside the pond, inline with tubing. Includes 15' power cord.
